Health Program: Health is Wealth and Wealth is Health
The NAVTI Foundation saw that the under privileged in our community had many problems when it came to their health, due to their inability to afford paying for their healthcare bills. The objective of this program is to support the creation and management of community health care centres and projects.
- The foundation closely works with the KISMET friendship healthcare group, which is our main partner in the execution of health projects. With sponsorship from the Humanitarian Aid Foundation in Germany, we have received many medical doctors and nurses who have assisted us in moving to villages which lack access to poor health care services like maternity. It is our aim to start work on getting funding to assist them in creating more health centers in these localities so as to redress their situation
- With funding from PARMED NGO in Germany, we are currently building a health centre/hospital in Nseh village in Kumbo and In-service Nursing Training School for health personnel. We shall also assist the Malunguri village, Mbonsha village, Kikoo and 4 other villages to build and develop their health care system.
- We also manage program to assist the under privileged through assisting patients with skin and other chronic diseases affecting members in our community like elephantiasis etc
- Owing to the fact that HIV/AIDS is a dangerous disease which affects whole communities, we have expanded our activities towards this domain. We have been working in hand with the local aids control committee Tobin to assist in this field. We have taken part in National HIV/AIDS week last year where we matched, offered health talks and visited some hospitals to care for HIV/AIDS victims. We are drawing up a school training program in this domain to create more HIV/AIDS clubs so as to increase awareness and sensitize the students for they are more vulnerable to this disease. We are working out more programs in this domain in the near future.
