General Scholarships Scheme

Our first Scholarship scheme was launched on June 08, 2004 at Tobin Catholic Primary School to underprivileged students. The prizes awarded went to the first three pupils who passed their examination in each of the classes in three primary schools in Kumbo. The prizes awarded to the pupils drawn from Tobin Catholic School, Marem Islamic Primary School and Meluf Presbyterian School ranged from exercise books, rulers, and ball points/pencils. In sum, over sixty prizes were awarded to the pupils.

Fai Kilam, Mr. Lawrence Shang, Mr. Jean Louis Shudzeka, Mr. Kajetan Kwatinyuy, Miss Maximilliana Yensi, Mr. Lionel Nsai and Miss Lesley Abraham, a volunteer worker from Canada, witnessed the occasion amongst 200 others. This is just the first step and we hope, with more support, we shall be able to offer assistance to more children.

Since the start of this academic year, we have assisted more than 20 pupils who fall amongst underprivileged and HIV/AIDS orphans with books, school bags and payment of school fees.

The most recent scholarship awards took place in partnership with the Kismet Friendship Healthcare Group on the 16 October, 2004 in Mbiame, where we distributed a total of 350.000frs CFA (approximately US$500) to give out to underprivileged and handicapped children to support them with school fees.
