Activities for NAVTI Foundation Cameroon
Volunteer Program
The NAVTI Foundation as an organisation aims at promoting volunteering in and from outside to our community so as to bring human resources to help our under privileged community. We bring people and then place them to other organisations, which are in need of expert knowledge, which they do not have locally.
For example we have brought in volunteers to assist the community in examining their problems, bringing suggestions and helping the community members write the projects so as to start looking for assistance. This program allows human resources to be sought for community growth which wouldn't be available if we had to pay.
Our volunteer service department follows up the volunteer, ensuring that they achieve their aims of coming to our community and they also contribute to the growth of our community before leaving.
This project looks at how:
- Our members can assist in other areas of the community without really thinking of compensation. Many of our community projects can't afford paid staff as such they need people with skills to assist them for free.
- International volunteers: There are also avenues for international volunteers to come over to our centre to assist us in our various projects.
We try to promote the spirit of volunteering amongst our community to help those who cannot afford to pay benefit from the knowledge and services we can render. We have so far received 35+ volunteers from Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, Holland, Germany and Iceland. They have helped us work in our women schemes and rural extension projects.
